Tribute to Bear

Hello and welcome to our Family Branches and Twigs.  My nickname is Sis given to me by my father.  Our kindred is very difficult to trace with so many names which are the same and some destroyed by fire.  However, we will give it our best shot.  It has taken many hours of work from both relatives and friends to place some significance to it all! Some of the names we are searching are:  Dawe, Greenslade, Hiscock, Miller, Morgan, Murphy, Porter, Rees, Smith, Somerton.

Our Statement

Ask, and it shall be given you;

seek, and ye shall find;

knock, and it shall be opened unto you.

For every one that asketh, receiveth;

and he that seeketh, findeth;

and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.

--- Matthew 7: 7,8

And dedicated to all branches of my family who so gallantly
served their country in times of great danger and to those who sought out new lands!

Seaman's Version of the 23rd Psalm

The Lord is my Pilot; I shall not drift.
He lighteth me across the dark waters;
He steereth me in the deep channels;
He keepeth my log.

He guideth me by the star of holiness for His name's sake.
Yea, though I sail 'mid the thunders and tempests of life,
I shall dread no danger, for Thou art with me.
Thy love and Thy care they shelter me.

Thou preparest a harbor before me in the homeland of eternity;
Thou anointest the waves with oil; my ship rideth calmly.
Surely, sunlight and starlight shall favor me on the voyage I take, and I will rest in the port of my God forev
