February 9, 1995 - Smith, Edward Christopher - Passed peacefully away at the Grace General Hospital on February 9, 1995, Edward Christopher Smith, aged 88 years. Predeceased by his wife Dallas in 1978. Leaving to mourn one daughter Deanna; one son Edward (wife Nancy); five sisters; Laura Colyer of St. John's; Hazel Whitten of St. John's; Margaret Young of St. John's; Elizabeth Holmesdale of Nova Scotia; and Dorothy Cahela of Alabama; one brother William of British Columbia; two sisters-in-law: Audrey Smith of Manuels and Marie Smith of Corner Brook; two grandchildren: Tracy (husband Walter Walzthoni) and Nicole (husband Paul Watson); three great-grandchildren; Samantha, Natasha and Michaela; and a number of other relatives and friends. Resting at Barrett's Funeral Home, 328 Hamilton Avenue from 7-9 p.m. Thursday, 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Friday and 10 a.m. Saturday. May 7, 2001 - SMITH, Edward Lloyd - Manuels. Age 69 years. At 5:45 p.m. on Monday, May 7th, 2001, a loving husband, father, grandfather and father-in-law slipped from our midst and was ushered into the realm of eternal life. Predeceased by his sister Enid Sinclair on the same day at 3:30 p.m. Lloyd will be missed by his devoted wife of 44 years, Louise (Morgan); his 3 caring daughters: Shelly Hancock (Kenzie), Sharon Greenslade (Max), Sharline Eason; and his only son Lloyd Jr. Poppy will be fondly remembered by 6 precious grandchildren: Julie, Morgan and Suzie Hancock; Eddie, Nancy and Benjamin Eason. He is also survived by sisters: Dottie Murrin (Ray), Eleanor Locke (Frank); and brother-in-law Don Sinclair; as well as other relatives and friends. The wake will be held at the James J. Hickey Memorial Funeral Home, Kelligrews. Visitation on Tuesday from 7-9:30 p.m.; Wednesday 10 - 12 noon, 2-4 p.m. and 7-9:30 p.m.; Thursday from 10 a.m. - 12 noon.
